As a registered nurse prescriber, you are authorised to inject botulinum toxin and fillers as well as other aesthetic and cosmetic treatments.
Hyaluron und Filler Procedures
Wrinkle injections and volume treatment with hyaluronic acid are practices of medicine and aesthetic medicine that require a licence. Since injections can lead to complications, there are precise legal regulations on who is allowed to perform them.
Treatment with hyaluronic acid fillers is a minimally invasive procedure and may therefore be carried out by alternative practitioners. Hyaluronic acid does not require a prescription in Germany and may be purchased by anyone. After successful completion of their training, alternative practitioners are authorised to perform injections according to §1 of the Heilpraktiker law and can use specific further training (as well as our further training opportunities) to learn how to perform the treatment.
Botox® Procedures
In Germany, botulinum toxin is one of the prescription drugs that may not be indicated and prescribed by alternative practitioners. Since even the slightest inaccuracy in the injection of the muscle relaxant can lead to asymmetries or facial paralysis, the treatment is subject to strict legal regulations. The injection of botulinum toxin may not be performed by alternative practitioners.
However, those who are interested in the aesthetic treatment with botulinum toxin – without performing it – may continue their education flexibly in our online courses. The hands-on videos offer a practical insight into the professional technique.
