Basics of reflected light microscopy

We start with the physical basics of dermoscopy and review relevant histology – the fundamentals for a good understanding of dermoscopy. Afterwards, we will show you the most important steps for the optimal evaluation of skin findings using a dermatoscope. With our high-quality dermoscopy images, you will learn to determine yourselves whether the skin lesion is benign or malignant. Based on many years of experience in the field of dermatology, our licensed physicians will introduce you to the latest diagnostic algorithms in our didactically innovative dermoscopy CME course.

Our Dermoscopy Course is suitable for beginnners and eperienced practinioners. Regardless of your level of expertise, by the end of the online course you will be able to confidently apply basic diagnostic skills using a dermatoscope.

Certification of the course

Our dermoscopy course is CME-certified by the North Rhine Medical Association (Ärztekammer Nordrhein) and offers you a practical insight into the assessment of skin lesions.

The majority of our dermoscopy images were provided to us courtesy of Prof. Kittler of Vienna. These represent the most common clinical pictures in daily clinical practice.

With our Dermatoscopy Masterclass you will gain an excellent understanding of the most important skin lesions you will encounter in your daily clinical routine. This also includes benign skin changes such as dermatofibroma, hemangioma or seborrheic keratosis. Here we discuss the dermatoscopic criteria and go through the findings together using various images. In the Masterclass you will also receive a course script and a signed certificate.

The Masterclass includes lessons 1 to 8 from the Basic Course and Premium Course.

Dermoscopy images

You train your eye through the large number of images depicting various skin lesions from everyday clinical practice. The majority of our high quality images were provided to us by Prof. Kittler from Vienna. We refer to his highly recommended textbook for dermatoscopy and his intensive dermatoscopy course in Vienna (registration by mail). We continuously update our selection of dermoscopy images with current images of patients that we examine in daily clinical practice. This way we guarantee that you always have up-to-date and clinically relevant knowledge.

Want to feel confident in dermatoscopic assessment in 90 minutes? Would you like to train your eye to distinguish between harmless findings and those that require clarification? Then our dermatoscopy course is just the right one for you!

In 9 video lessons we interactively discuss the basics and systematic interpretation of findings. At the end of the course you will know exactly how to evaluate skin lesions. Then you can test your knowledge directly in our online quiz.

 

No matter what your profession is, we will pick you up at your individual level of knowledge and work with you to develop systematic image interpretation skills. The online dermatoscopy course focuses on frequently occuring benign and malignant skin changes. The goal is that at the end of the course you will be able to determine the dignity and diagnosis of the skin lesion in a short time.

 

The online dermatoscopy course teaches you the basics of dermatoscopy in 90 minutes – you learn to dermatoscopically assess the most important and frequent occuring clinical skin changes. Each lesson contains at least five pictures of skin findings which we’ll explain in detail over the entirety of the course.

For detailed understanding, the corresponding criteria are not only named but also visually highlighted for each dermatoscopic image. Now you’ll know exactly what to look out for!
